• 8 nights accommodation
• Breakfast – fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, cheese, pancake, breads, local jams, teas and coffee
• 1 Berber village tour, including exotic lunch and transport
• 2 Dinners of sumptuous Moroccan cuisine at Riad Al Jazira
• 3 lunches – sandwich smorgasbord at Riad Al Jazira
• Local tours, transport and entry fees to Museums etc

PAYMENT
$5,850 for PRIVATE accommodation (credit card/PayPal, add $145).
• A deposit of $1,750 is required within 7 days of booking (credit card/paypal, add $54).
NOTE: $750 of this deposit is non-refundable or transferable.
• A payment of $2,100 by the 15th April 2011 (credit card/paypal, add $50)
• A balance payment of $2000 by 15th June 2011 (credit card/paypal, add $50)

WHAT TO BRING
• Loose, comfortable clothing for warm or hot weather – There are no strict clothing requirements for women.
• Umbrella or rain jacket

• Camera– optional
• Art material– There is an art shop in Marrakech with a very good range of materials.
Good quality pigments are also available at the spice markets
• Optional –Laptop computer & cables for downloading photos
• Bring US, EU, credit cards for ATM or DHIRHAM as Australian currency is not accepted in Marrakech.
TRAVEL TIPS
• Coming form Australia- Please arrive at a destination that is close to, or fly directly to Marrakech
no later than 48 hours prior to your retreat date. e.g. 11th-12th September

• On arrival we recommend a choice of Hamam; a Moroccan style body scrub sauna, AUD $25,
and or massage AUD$33 – A great start and very refreshing after a very long flight.

• The weather is usually hot and we advise to drink at least 2 litters of water per day containing rehydration

WEATHER
Marrakech is sunny nearly all year round, with pleasantly warm summers. September is at the tail end of summer and can still be hot; there is no humidity so temperatures are generally bearable. IMPORTANT NOTE: Paints can be taken in checked baggage only, not in your hand luggage!
A good range of art materials (canvases, etc) are available locally in Marrakech; brushes, canvases, canvas boards, good papers, *only small selection of brushes, portable easels or table stands, sketchbooks, paints, pencils etc.
The local spice markets sell pure pigment that can be mixed with egg yolk, linseed oil or water.
However you many like to bring your own of some or all of the following –
WRITING MATERIALS
A notebook and pen or pencil for note taking on the move
Paper and pen/pencil for writing exercises back at the riad
OR a laptop (optional) for writing exercises (whichever you are most comfortable using).
NB if you are bringing a laptop, Morocco uses 2-pin round plugs, same as continental Europe.
OUTDOOR SKETCHING MATERIALS
Soft pastels and/ or oil pastels in a good range of colours.
Watercolors’ and/or gouaches, with portable watercolour palette and appropriate brushes. Bring plastic containers and portable palette
Pencils, coloured pencils ( and erasers)
In, pen and or brush (optional)
Digital camera with removable memory card, blank CDs for storage.
Sketchbook/sketchpads
Small backpack, sunhat and suitable clothing and shoes for outdoor sketching expeditions.

Canvas boards, canvases or unstreched canvas roll
Paints, (oils or acrylics) – colours of choice but should include these as a minimum palette
Cool yellow (lemon), Warm yellow (mid cadmium yellow), warm red (such as napthol scarlet or cadmium)

• 60 days before retreat (13/07/11), $2,250 non-refundable.
• 30 days before retreat (17/08/11), TOTAL PAYMENT non-refundable.
• Once the retreat has commenced, no refund will be provided
