Our artist retreat on the east coast village of Coles Bay sits beneath pink granite mountains rising from the ocean at the entrance to Freycinet National Park, and overlooks the crystal clear waters of Oyster Bay.
During October, Freycinet National Park is alive with wildflowers; and offshore, whales can be viewed in their seasonal migration. The park is famous for its white sandy beaches and the pure clear turquoise waters that are perfect for artistic inspiration.
Enjoy a luxury break, just a couple of hours drive from Hobart, where we spend our first two days exploring the waterfront, museums, markets, vineyards and enjoying sumptuous food – before retreating to the beautiful wilderness and coastal heath lands of Tasmania’s east coast.
The aim of this retreat is to furnish novel stimuli through excursions, which offer the opportunity to collect visual material, using sketchbooks, watercolour/gauge studies and photography to develop into final art works in our resort studio.
Elisabeth assumes a quiet place of wisdom as she works with and guides each student with individual care, according to his or her capacity and personal choice of direction.
A master of contemporary art with 50 years’ experience of teaching and exhibiting, and winner of countless awards, Elisabeth is highly respected as one of Australia’s leading contemporary female artists. She lives in Wedderburn, NSW
